Can I use these products every day?
We recommend using the products three times a week. After that, if you’d like more glow, you can apply them more often. Both formulas develop gradually, so there’s little risk of over-tanning.
Will these products stain clothing, sheets or towels?
Our plant-based DHA doesn’t stain fabric — it works only by interacting with your skin’s amino acids. However, Sunbright and Break of Dawn contain cacao extract, which delivers an immediate warm glow. This tint can transfer slightly, which is why Sunbright and Break of Dawn are intended for daytime use.
What is plant-based DHA and how does it work in self-tanning?
What is it?
Our DHA (dihydroxyacetone) is made in a biorefinery and sourced from renewable natural plant sugars such as sugar beets, sugar cane, and other natural sugar crops.
How does it work?
Think of what happens when you cut an apple in half. After a little while, the surface starts to turn brown. That’s because the natural sugars in the apple react with the air. When applied to your skin, DHA reacts with the amino acids in the top layer just like the apple with air, and gradually develops a natural-looking glow, all without the sun.
